Guided tours of the museum's permanent collection are available free of charge at 3:00 p.m. every Sunday afternoon.

Group tours are available by appointment and can be customized to meet the specific needs and interests of your group. Rates are $3 per adult or youth; tour coordinators are admitted free.

School Groups

See Ongoing Tours and activities on our Students page for a list of curriculum-based tour programs. Tours for student groups from public elementary, middle, and high schools are free, thanks to the support of the Creel-Harison Foundation. Tours for student groups from private schools, home schools, or colleges are $2 per student. Chaperones and tour coordinators receive free admission. Art activities booked in conjunction with school tours cost $2 per student for all schools.

Please note that tours must be booked at least two weeks in advance and that you may be asked to select an alternate date and/or time should your first selection be unavailable.

Admission

Personal care attendants or companions assisting visitors with disabilities are admitted without charge. Service animals are welcome throughout the museum.

Arranging Special Tours

Group reservations and guided tours are available for special-needs audiences, including audio-described gallery tours for visitors with visual impairments, through the museum’s education department. To schedule a tour designed specifically for visitors with disabilities. Call 706-828-3867. Two weeks advance notice is required.

Getting Around The Morris

Parking

Designated parking spaces for visitors with handicapped parking ID are provided in the main lot on the west side of the Riverfront Center. These spaces are identified by the international symbol of access. Visitors may also be dropped off and picked up at the east entrance of the Riverfront Center, located on Tenth Street.

Entrance

Visitors are encouraged to enter the Augusta Riverfront Center through one of the two ground-level entrances. The museum galleries, located on the second floor, and the library, located on the third floor, can be reached by the elevators in the center of the building.

Barrier-Free Access

The Morris Museum provides barrier-free access for visitors using wheelchairs or walkers.

Visitor Guides

Visitor guides, which include a gallery floor plan, are available at the information desk. Guides are available in large print.

Wheelchairs

Manual wheelchairs are available to visitors on a first-come, first-served basis, without fee or reservation. These wheelchairs are for use inside the museum only.
