With a screenplay by the Atlanta-born novelist Calder Willingham, this film stars Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis, Janet Leigh, Ernest Borgnine, and James Donald. Its story concerns the intense rivalry between a Viking prince (Douglas) and a slave (Curtis), who vie for the attention of the beautiful Princess Morgana (Leigh), fated to marry a loathsome English king.
