This exhibition illuminates Walker Evans’s changing perception of his own work through both editorial and philosophical revisions, and now, more than sixty years after its original publication, the book Let Us Now Praise Famous Men reasserts the still poignant truth of Agee and Evans’s vision. The exhibition is drawn exclusively from original materials now preserved at the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center, University of Texas at Austin.
