ABOUT THE BOOK

After waiting more than forty years for a national title, lifelong Georgia fan Charlie English humorously recounts the team’s two-year run atop college football during the 2021 and 2022 seasons in Pregame Prayers & Tailgate Tales.

English’s pregame devotionals capture the passion and pageantry of gamedays in the South through the witty and irreverent lens of a long-suffering, God-fearing, and brown-liquor-loving lifelong Bulldawg fan.

As a child, English grew up reading Lewis Grizzard, the legendary Atlanta Journal-Constitution sports columnist. Echoing the humorist’s wry observations on sports, food, and culture in the South, English gives his unique perspective on the cherished tradition of fall Saturdays, complete with a collection of delicious recipes and a consistent dose of bourbon.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
