Veterans Explore Art with the Morris
The Morris presents Veterans Explore Art with the Morris February 2–24 in the 1st floor EDU Gallery. The exhibition features a variety of works created by 4 veterans who participated in the museum’s monthly Art Reach program at the Augusta VA Medical Center. Art Reach is a monthly program that engages those who seek outpatient treatment at the Augusta VA’s uptown facility. Veterans participate in a class that assists in the therapeutic process led by a local artist / a Morris staff member. According to one Art Reach participant, “This program has helped me emotionally—all thoughts of pain, agitation, depression, fear, and anxiety dissipate during the session, and I feel relaxed and in a safe place.”
